Trinity College chooses Ash Environmental technologies for EPA STRIVE research project entitled "The assessment of disposal options for treated wastewater from single houses in low permeability soil/subsoil settings".

Two low pressure pipe infiltration systems (LPP) and two Geoflow drip distribution systems (DRIP) from Ash Environmental were installed in homes in Kilkenny and Monaghan in August 2012.  The systems were designed and supplied by Ash Environmental as a part of the Environmental Protection Agency funded STRIVE grant project to evaluate technologies suitable for low permeability soils.  Assuming the project demonstrates the technologies successfully, it is envisaged that this will allow the use of LPP and DRIP in Irish settings. Researched and made popular in the USA over the past 25 years, drip systems have now been successfully installed in a number of Irish counties in the last two years.

Ash Environmental's Joe Walsh is part of the septic tank inspector's training group.

A training programme is being developed to provide guidance to Local Authority Inspectors of septic tank systems and other domestic wastewater treatment systems under the recent legislation governing next years nationwide inspection of domestic wastewaster systems.

Joe Walsh Director of Ash Environmemental is part of the training group which is coordinated by Tobin Engineers who were awarded the training contract.
